Ivory Flowers Ketubah

Ivory and blue are the dominant colors in this custom floral ketubah. The shaped top recalls Italian ketubot of the 18th century which were painted on parchment and cut to the shape of the upper border to allow for easier rolling. The oval above the texts contains a quotation from Hosea in Hebrew and English: “I will betroth thee unto me forever. will betroth thee unto me in righteousness and justice, in loving kindness and in compassion.” The outer border’s quotation is from the Baal Shem Tov: “From every human being there rises a light that reaches straight to heaven, and when two people who are destined to be together find each other, their streams of light flow together and a single, brighter light goes forth from their united being,” and “I am my beloved and my beloved is mine.” Image size: 27” x 19”.
