Holocaust Letter

A letter, written to their young son before he left for America and they were killed in the Holocaust, is in the center of this watercolor. It was handed down to the grandson who wanted to create a piece of art with the translation from the German and the imagery going from colorless, dead flowers with barbed wire stems at the bottom to the renewal of life at the top.
