• Miriam Karp graduated from Brown University, received her MA in painting
    from the State University of New York at Albany, and an MFA in painting
    from Indiana University in Bloomington where she was a recipient of a Ford
    Foundation Fellowship. Exhibiting her work nationally she received two
    regional NEA fellowships in painting. Her encaustic paintings (painting in
    hot wax) are featured in Joanne Mattera's book, The Art of Encaustic Painting and Encaustic Art by Jennifer Margell, and her commission pieces
    in Modern Judaica: Today's Makers, Today's Sacred Objects by Jim Cohen.
    Her work is in public collections including The High Museum of Art,
    Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and King and Spalding. She has calligraphed and painted ketubahs for couples all over the world and there are a few families that can claim a Miriam Karp ketubah in each of three generations!
